Hello,
This funding is to support my neighbor and her family who lost everything they owned in the fire that happened on mission street Saturday, June 18 (3316 Mission Street). We used to live in that apartment for 4 years before we moved to the east bay to welcome our second baby about 3 months ago. My heart goes to all the victims, and I can't stop but to think we could have lost everything as well.
Our neighbor Lilian is originally from Peru. She has 3 kids. Oldest goes to college. The youngest is 8 years old and will be going to second grade. The middle daughter goes to elementry school who is 11 years old. They lived in the apartment unit cross from ours. They are kind and very nice people. She does office cleanning at nights and takes City College Classes during the day to become a Medical Assistant. Life has not been easy for her. But she stayed positive and generous no matter what. I would like to help her and her family as much as possible. She will need to find a new apartment. She has been living in that apartment for 10 years with the rent control. It is a stressful time for all of them. Currently they are staying at the Slavation Army shelter the city offered. But they have to find a rent apartment soon. Once we reach the goal of the funding, I will go meet them in person and deliver the money. This will help them find a home for themselves and lessen the stress they have financially.
Nothing is too small to donate. Please give what you can! I and they will appreciate no matter what.
Thank you,
Sev Saffen
