Hi friends and family,
My mom, hero, and best friend has had a rough few years... after being diagnosed with MS in 2011 and battling degenerative disease in her spine for almost 20 years, my three siblings and I have finally gotten the courage to seek help from our community.
With no financial support and lack of ability to work, Heidi has been alone moving from room to room around Southern California to be close to a neurologist since 2011 for infusions and this is not easy for somebody who struggles with daily cognitive tasks.
Luckily, most of Heidi’s medical expenses are covered via Tricare military insurance from her previous marriage; but unfortunately her issue right now is her dental health. She has lost multiple teeth over the years due to infection and needs four molars pulled due to another major infection in the root leaving her extremely ill. This has been going on for a year leaving her in severe pain everyday. This past month she has finally sought help and is currently on her third round of antibiotics. Yesterday was her appointment to remove the four infected roots from a dentistry school but was turned away because they wanted $4,500 up front. This is the only facility she can afford to go to and was hoping to make payments.
This fundraiser will provide my mom with an infection free mouth and a portion of her future teeth.
After this procedure she will be left with only a few teeth, and despite all the pain she feels everyday, her biggest insecurity is her smile.
I would love to see my mom smile again and feel support from the people who love her.
