Hi everyone, I’m raising funds for Sam (73) and his wife Viv (71) who were the unfortunate victims of a horrendous car accident through no fault of their own in Mansfield on Thursday 4th March 2021, resulting in their car & caravan exploding becoming a raging inferno destroying everything they own. Luckily Sam & Viv managed to be rescued from the wreckage by heroic locals before the explosion. Both were airlifted to The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, Sam with serious spinal & head injuries, Viv with upper body broken bones. Sam is currently in ICU in a serious condition after many surgeries, & Viv is in a ward recovering. Both should hopefully survive however, with a long road to recovery.
The following words are from their son Simon who sent me a message giving me permission to set up this go fund me fundraising effort;
‘Hi Paul, it’s Simon here. Your suggestion of a gofundme page is very thoughtful, and an excellent suggestion. My parents have lost everything, so your offering to set up a fund for them and help them rebuild means more than I could possibly put into words. Reality is that it will be almost impossible for them to recover from the fallout of the accident on their own, though they would loathe to admit their inability to do so without some form of help. My parents have always cared more for others than themselves, and it kills me now to think that someone has taken that away from them.’
Oh, and their much loved pet cat Missy escaped the wreckage & inferno too, but is still at large somewhere. Thanks to all those out there searching for Missy. We shall do our best to find her.
Come on everyone, please help Sam & Viv start their long road to recovery with anything you can spare. Awesome, & thanks for taking the time to read this.
