Help Quintin Simmons Heal

One moment, Quintin was driving his fiancee, Kayla, to a taco shop. The very next moment he was hit by an unlicensed and uninsured driver. In that instant Q's life changed. He has been in the ICU since June 6th. Every day since then a family member is by his bedside. I have held his hand, read letters of support to him, and tried tirelessly to insure that he is getting the best care.
His stay in the ICU has not been easy. When he arrived at the door he immediately underwent emergency neurosurgery to relieve the swelling in his brain. After the accident he was in a coma for the better part of two weeks. I started reading the Harry Potter novels to him while he was out. I wanted to entertain him and help keep his mind occupied while he lay trapped in the hospital bed.
Recently, Quintin has started making huge improvements. He is slowly transitioning off the ventilator and has been wearing the most fashionable hospital gowns imaginable. He opened his eyes for the first time with me beside him. His right arm giving hints that the Quintin I know and love is just below the surface.
Although he has made leaps and bounds already, Quintin still has a long road ahead of him. He will need lots of intensive rehabilitation that is catered for traumatic brain injuries. I want to give him the best shot and hope to raise funds to help him get the help he needs. The doctors say that this first year after the injury is crucial. I hope to use your generosity to make this time count the most it can. Specifically I want to use the funds to cover his medical expenses and transfer him to a great rehab unit where he can thrive.
With Love,
Laurel (Quintin's Mom)
