Greetings.
The picture you see on this campaign was taken on September 17, 2015 in Chicago, IL.
This was the last time my parents and I shared a happy experience together, because we were there together and for one night we forgot about our family's troubles. However our troubles in the coming months would lead our family to this saddening news....The news the my mother is dying.
My Mother Is Dying.
My mother was diagnosed with stage 1 ovarian cancer in 2012 and started her Chemotherapy treatments while recovering from a hysterectomy until 2013. From 2013-2014 she spent the majority of her time recovering from nerve damage she sustained in 2012. In early 2015 she was dealing with shoulder pain and underwent shoulder surgerey.
In September 2015 my parents traveled to Chicago to support me in the biggest competition of my life. My inspiration was my mom, and I won the competition. Two weeks later she was diagnosed with Stage IV ovarian cancer that had spread to her lungs, and because of the tumors location, it was deemed inoperable.
From November 2015-March 2016 she had more chemotherapy sessions that we believed worked. That proved to not be the case. Radiation treatments were the next course of action those were adminstered until May 2016. The tumors in her lung were still growing.
June 6, 2016- I rushed my mother to the emergency room because she had extreme shoulder pain. It was at this time that we learned that her left lung had collapsed because of the tumor growth. She was hospitalized until June 10, 2016 and was given pain medication to contol her shoulder pain. We decided to opt for a clinical trial to try to tackle her tumors.
June 17, 2016- I rushed my mother to the emergency room because she had trouble breathing, and chest pains and her heart was beating between 110-226. She has been on medication to regulate her body.
June 19, 2016- My father informed that my mother devolped a blood clot in her right lung, her only working lung.
June 20, 2016- Her doctor informed me that my mother is losing this battle. There is nothing more that can be done for her. Our only objective now is to make her comfortable. She can leave this world at any moment and actions needs to be taken. Her doctors don't see her reaching July.
No one in my family was prepared for this. My dad and I have been mentally preparing for this moment. We had no idea how financially this was going to affect us. I am planning my mothers funeral while she is still alive so that when she leaves this world, we can follow a plan.
It is for that reason that I ask from the bottom of my heart for help.
To those who know my Mother, you know she is beautiful, loving, caring, empowering, nurturing and wonderful. This money will help our family put a great woman to rest.
My mother is 55 years old. I have no words to express how much this hurts. My heart aches and my soul hurts, but I am doing my best to remain level-headed and strong. With your support, you will help our family fufill my mothers wishes.
We will use these funds to assist us in finding a funeral home so our family and friends can come pay their respects to a great woman. Funerals can get pretty expensive, from death certificates, caskets, creamation, transportation of the body and so forth.
Every little bit helps, and if you are unable to donate, but can spread the word about this campaign; I would never be able to thank you enough.
I cannot thank you enough for reading this. If you have any questions, anything you wish to know, if you are unsure about donating, please do not hesistate to ask.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message. Our family cannot thank you enough. I cannot thank you enough. May your life be blessed with health and happiness. I pray that mother looks over you.
Sincerely,
Mark Garcia and Margaro Garcia
Son and Father of Guadalupe Garcia
