Emma Cote's Recovery Support

Donation protected

It's so difficult to try and sum up someone in such a small space... because anyone who knows Emma Cote could conjure an almost endless list of what makes her such a wonderful and loving person.  She's known for her passion and dedication to her students at a private preschool... her affection for gardening and for animals... her love and loyalty to family and friends... and most of all, her kindness and devotion to those who are in need.

I'm writing on behalf of Emma because it is she that is in need now.

For six years, Emma has been increasingly ill with an unknown illness.   Facing fainting spells, hip and joint pain, waves of nausea, and trouble digesting food, Emma and her dutiful husband, Matt knew that something was not right.  The countless tests and very few answers have left her tired and very discouraged.  Her doctors have recommended a bone marrow biopsy to confirm a plausible answer to some of what she is experiencing.  The doctors suspect a rare blood cancer that's called Polycythemia Vera. If confirmed, it is manageable with treatment. In addition to gene testing from the biopsy, Emma also faces several colorectal tests to determine if and how much of her colon she may need to lose, which has been a surgical repair plan that has been progressively needed over the past 2 years.

The numerous symptoms of her illnesses, the piling of medical bills and not qualifying for MaineCare have left Emma overwhelmed and unable to work.  But after numerous conversations in regards to taking some kind of action, I was able to convince Emma to let me start this GoFundMe campaign.  Emma usually has been the one taking the lead on something to help someone... so being the one to be receiving the help has been rather foreign for her to imagine.  Any money that is raised with not just go towards medical bills... but will also help with travel expenses to appointments, as well as provide the appropriate maintenance for a safe vehicle for her to be able to go to her numerous appointments.

I appreciate you taking this time to read how important that Emma is to so many wonderful people.  Any donations are appreciated and updates will be provided as they come along.
