Hi, everyone! My name is Monet Henderson and I’m fundraising for expenses while I go through chemotherapy. I hail from Chattanooga, Tennessee and am a graduate of Central High School in Harrison. I just turned twenty-one years old, and I attend Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN. I am a junior majoring in Child Development and Family Studies with a minor in Social Work. I plan on being an advocate for children in the education field and eventually want to be a student counselor. I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma January 5, 2021. Caught early, I am blessed to be staged 1 bulky, meaning the size of my tumor is pretty big but the cancer isn’t widespread in my body. I am also blessed to have health insurance and a wonderful medical team. As of now, I have undergone three chemotherapy treatments, with five more to go (hopefully). That’s about two or three more months of treatment. When one undergoes chemotherapy treatment, their bodies are literally being treated with poison to fight the cancer, the result being a very weak immune system. I’m high risk for infection if I even catch a common cold. Because of this, I am not able to work or be around many people. In fact, I had to take a medical leave from my current job at Walmart and resign from my other job at a daycare as a classroom assistant. I am organizing this GoFundMe because I need assistance covering my expenses until I am able to go back to work which hopefully will be sometime in June. I’ve been called a workaholic, so this is definitely taking a toll on me not being able to provide for myself, so any donation would be greatly appreciated. God bless you all! ❤️
