Taking Music Education On The Road

Hello,
I'm Scott Paul Graham, founder of Graham Music Pros, a private music school that has been operating in Folsom, CA since 1988. I teach a wide variety of instruments to vast age groups. Nearly every genre of music at all levels has been taught through me over my 30 year career.
I'm seeking funds to complete a proper mobile music classroom. This trailer will be outfitted with 2 compact drum kits, bass and guitar amplifiers, large pc monitor, mics/ pa system, 3 keyboards and various stringed instruments (uke, banjo, mandolin, guitar, bass etc). I am only seeking funds for the trailer build and instrument refurbishing supplies.
My plans with this mobile studio are wide ranging. First goal is to visit areas throughout California that suffer from poor school music programs or have no music program at all. It would allow kids to try many different instruments and get some brief instruction on how they're played. I would supply a list of any private music teachers in their area and links to proper websites for studying the instrument of choice. Donated instruments will be passed along to those who cannot afford them or families that have yet to discover the power and value of learning and playing music. My travels would be funded by some donations, but primarily by playing gigs along the way.
What is 6stringusa?
- an online community for music education with a focus on guitar, but not limited to.
- a hub for collecting, refurbishing and distributing salvaged or donated instruments to children that don’t have the means to obtain them.
- a go-between for connecting students with local music teachers (some of them with tuition required and some who are willing to donate some of their time to get kids started on their newly acquired instruments.)
- a mobile classroom that will visit schools, juvenile detention centers, special education groups and the like to introduce youths to a number of different musical instruments with hands-on training.
- an avenue for inspiration, hope, happiness and confidence for children that desperately need a positive focus.
