Many of you know Tevan, he's my right hand man here at Hugh's HandBuilt. He doesn't do social media, but you know who he is from meeting him at our events, seeing what he is doing with our family via Facebook or Instagram, etc...
Tevan is family, there is no other way to say it. He lives with his amazing grandparents, Ken and Robin - who are equally important people in our lives. The love they have for each other and their family is intense. Ken stays at home these days, on disability due to diabetes, and Robin works doing housekeeping at a local hotel. Tevan works for Hugh's HandBuilt of course, and has for the past 6 years.
While we were at the Big Mountain Run this past week, Tevan's grandmother Robin had to be rushed to the hospital for an emergency surgery for a blood clot that was causing damage to her foot. The surgery went well, thankfully...
While Robin was in the Hospital, Ken fell at home and had a rather severe compound fracture in his leg/ankle. He managed to pull himself to the front door and yell to the neighbors for help, which required him to have an emergency surgery as well.
Meanwhile, another blood clot was found in Robin's hip - requiring yet another surgery just a few days later - which has also gone well.
These are good people, honest people, living paycheck to paycheck. I've never once seen them even go out for lunch in the 6 years I've known them, they manage themselves very well, but this is a bit overwhelming. Robin is unable to return to work for at least 6 weeks or perhaps more, and they are simply not prepared for that lack of income on their strict budget and the hit of new unplanned medical bills.
I'm asking the community that we are a part of, both Local and the Motorcycle Community, to give just a little if possible. These folks aren't the kind that you will regret helping. You won't see a fancy vacation in 6 months, or a new car, etc... You'll just know that in your heart, you've helped some amazing people in a time of need.
Spread love, soften the blow of 3 emergency surgeries in one week, and provide just a bit of help. The goal above is arbitrary - anything at all is appreciated. I myself will donate $500 cash directly (so as to avoid fees)
Tevan wouldn't be the amazing individual he is, without them - he is also trying to sell his pickup truck and some motorcycle projects to help out.
I know that we can do some amazing things in our community, thanks for anything you can do to help.
