My heart is broken. A student of mine who had gone on to become a friend, took his own life yesterday and I just found out. He had been struggling with depression for a very long time. He had struggled in school for the majority of his life and I was so proud of him seeing him tackle on the challenges in my math class and going on to not only pass my class but continue to work on getting his associate degree in order to improve his life. He leaves behind his two doggies ( a pug named Gonzalo and a chihuaha named Taquito) Ricardo was an only child, survived by his mother who lives in Oaxaca, Mexico. We are in the process of making travel arrangements for her to travel to Buena Park, California and plan funeral arrangements. However, she is very poor, all alone and has no funds. If you can asssist with donations to pay for her travel and funeral expenses, I would be most eternally grateful.
