2AM Coffee Run

Director’s Statement
At its core, 2AM COFFEE RUN is not a film that’s just about a coffee addiction. It’s about the ways we build rituals to outrun silence, avoid facing the truths we bury so deep. For Brian, coffee is an excuse, a crutch, but underneath is something we all recognize: the fear of pausing long enough to hear the voice inside our own head. The buzzing notifications, the flickering lights, the endless store aisles all reflect the way anxiety distorts perception. It makes a bedroom feel like a battlefield, a corner store like a labyrinth, and a cup of coffee like a lifeline. My intention was to trap the audience in Brian’s cycle until they feel what he feels: the claustrophobia of a restless mind that cannot stop running.

What if quiet is not a void, but a mirror? What if stillness is not weakness, but strength? This film is less about solving anxiety than about inhabiting it, sitting with its weight until the audience feels both its terror and its release. 2 AM COFFEE RUN is meant to whisper an uncomfortable truth: unravelling truths of a young student with insomnia, addiction and overwhelming anxiety. Sometimes peace is not found in the acts of copping but in the terrifying act of stopping.

Meet The Team

What We Need & What You Get
We are aiming to raise $3000 to cover essential production costs, including:
  • Catering & Transportation: To provide great, quality food to keep our team rolling and our actors moving.
  • Location & Set Design: To secure a real location with practical props to create the eerie, immersive convenience store setting, the construction from scratch of one of our sets, and practical special effects that add flavour to the story.
  • Props & Wardrobe: Unique visual elements
The Impact
Your contribution will help us to tell an impactful story raising concerns about anxiety and addiction, along with ways people try to cope and overcome them.
Furthermore, supporting this project means you’re helping a new generation of filmmakers in creating a story that will be one of many Centennial College's Story Arts Centre films and projects that will be shot there.
Risks & Challenges
Like any film production, challenges may arise; location confirmed within budget restrictions, scheduling conflicts, or unexpected production issues. Like Orson Welles once said, “The enemy of art is the absence of limitations.” As passionate students of this craft, we embrace those limitations and remain committed to telling this story to its fullest potential.
Our biggest challenge is securing a convenience store location to shoot in. It’s the core of the film and sets the entire mood of the story. Without it, we would need to build or recreate a set, which would significantly increase costs. With your support, we can lock down the perfect location or create the perfect location ourselves, which defines the film.
Ultimately, the greatest challenge is balancing our ambitious vision with limited resources, but that’s exactly why your contribution matters. You help us turn obstacles into opportunities and bring this story to life.
Other Ways You Can Help
If you can’t contribute financially, but still want to help. You can still make a huge impact by:
  • Getting the word out and making some noise about our campaign.
  • Sharing the project on social media, with friends, family, and anyone who loves film.
  • Using the Indiegogo share tools to spread the word even further.
  • Every share, like, and mention helps us reach more people who might connect with this story. Together, we can build the support needed to make 2 A.M. COFFEE RUN a reality.
