Support for the McCausland Family
During the course of March 5th-7th, I will partake in the “4x4x48 Challenge”, an ultra-run consisting of a 4 mile run, every 4 hours, for 48 hours until completion. I will be attempting this challenge in memory of Michael R. McCausland, a father, son, husband, and former law eforcement officer for the Audubon Police Department in New Jersey.
Michael is lived on by his wife, Nicole, and their children, Caitlyn, Michael, and Abigial.
In 2021, at least 27 law enforcement officers have died by suicide, (according to BlueHelp.org). Statistically throughout the years, suicide among law enforcement officers has become more common than deaths in the line of duty.
I am also partaking in this challenge in order to raise awareness for the mental health epidemic plaguing not only our first responders, but the general population. A continuously growing percentage, 60% of Americans with a diagnosable form of mental illness recieve no treatment or medication. (National Insitute of Mental Health).
Please consider sharing this story and help support the McCausland family in their time of need. All donations will be distributed to Nicole McCausland at the end of this month, March 31, 2021.
