The past 24 months have been the hardest thing I have ever endured.  I have been fighting a pancreatic illness that has left me in pain, exhausted and depressed almost daily.  On top of that I have missed some of my girls life experiences.  It included 14 surgeries, 14 hospital stays ending up in over 40 days in the hospital and countless days of missing out on life itself.  On November 11, 2015 I underwent a Whipple surgery where the doctors removed the head of my pancreas, disconnected my stomach from my intestines, disconnected my bile duct from my pancreas, removed some of my small intestine and then reconnected them all.  All of this has impacted so many of my family and friends.  It has been hard not to question "WHY" and I did question it, not on a daily basis but at least a weekly basis.  Shortly after my Whipple surgery God revealed some answers to me...the pathology report came back on the part of my pancreas that was removed.  It showed the pancreatic cells were changing shape which indicates the start of pancreatic cancer so the Whipple surgery was meant for me to go through.  Since then I have continued to struggle with pain, nausea and gastrointestinal issues.  My primary care doctor suggested I look into other facilities for a second opinion.  I have decided to pursue medical testing in Rochester Minnesota at the Mayo Clinic to find answers.  My appointment is September 2nd, the testing will last between 5 and 7 working days so I am planning to be home by September 14th.
