Replace Rachel’s Stolen Car

Hi! Thanks for clicking the link for my GoFundMe. If you found this and we haven’t met before, my name is Rachel and I’m an essential grocery store worker.
Here’s the situation: Over the Feb. 20 weekend, my car was stolen from my apartment parking lot. It was found just a few days later...in a ditch across town, with the engine and transmission no longer attached to the car (They were literally sitting on the ground when the tow truck lifted the car). The car isn’t valuable enough to make repairs worthwhile and my liability insurance coverage doesn’t cover the cost of the damage. But like all of us, I still need a car for reliable transportation to get to and from work and live my life.
I can afford a monthly car payment, but I don’t have the funds on hand for a down payment (it’s a goal I was already working toward, but the situation is suddenly urgent). So, I made this GoFundMe. All funds raised will go towards the down payment and initial fees of a new car.
It’s been an awful week full of anxiety and stress. Even though the stolen car was found (and all my Taylor Swift CDs!), a profound sense of safety and independence was lost. Some of that can’t be replaced, but with your help I can at least own a reliable vehicle again. Words can’t describe how grateful I am for any help you can give, however you can. Thank you, thank you, thank you. If you ever need a ride to the airport, I’m your girl.
