Australian travel agents have been there for us....and now it's our turn to be there for them.
Travel agents in Australia play a significant role in bringing tourism back to Los Angeles and other major cities throughout the U.S. Their normally thriving industry has been severely impacted due to the pandemic.
Australia has a robust industry of brick and mortar travel agencies. Thousands of travel agents are out of work, or are working severely reduced hours. Major travel companies have closed stores and have had to eliminate major departments, creating massive job losses.
Our tourism industry in Los Angeles has greatly benefited from the knowledge and salesmanship of actual people on the ground in Australia, sitting in front of a client and helping them build their vacation to the U.S., which 70% of the time includes a visit to Los Angeles according to 2018 statistics
The last official numbers we have are from 2018, and they show the indisputable impact Australian tourism has in our state and in our city.
It’s our turn to show our appreciation and support in this extremely difficult time for these hard-working travel agents.
We are pleased to be offering $500AUD (Approx. $400USD) grants to Australian Travel Agents who are in most need of a little help right now. We will continue to offer these grants as long as funds are available, and 100% of the money will go the recipients.
Whether you have a business in Los Angeles that has benefited specifically from Australian tourism, you benefit from tourism to Los Angeles in any way, or you just want to help a group of people who are hurting at the moment and want to show appreciation for what they’ve done for our economy…..please donate.
These are tough times for so many people and businesses, including ours. Any amount is appreciated.
