If you have ever been to, performed at or worked a live music event in the Los Angeles area you have probably crossed paths with Arturo Gallegos. Even if you haven't seen this workhorse of an individual in person, there is also a chance that you have seen one of his many, many, MANY videos online of bands playing at various venues from all types of Metal and Hard Rock genres. Arturo has quite simply has been a major part of the "scene" for more years than I can even count. His dedication to his craft and his willingness to work behind the scenes has remain steadfast, whether he had to take multiple busses and ride his bike to a location, for hours before and after an event, to him just being at an event and offering bands help as they lug gear in... he has always been there.
The other side of Arturo is the love of his dogs. He religiously wakes up early, takes them for walks, makes sure they are taken care of and he truly treats them like they are his best friends on this planet. Of you know Arturo personally, you know about Buddy, his puppy-in-crime brother and yes, even a little kitty named Jumper.
Recently though, Buddy has been having various health issues and has had to make multiple trips to the vet. Though Buddy is only 10 years old, he has had some problems that have garnered some rather sizable vet bills. Currently, the vet has informed Arturo that Buddy has a form of arthritis that is residing in his spine and it could cripple Buddy without treatment. Arturo has seemed a second opinion, but the writing on the wall says that Buddy needs help, and he needs it now.
Normally Arturo would just work more and fund these bills but due to the mandatory shut downs, work has been almost non-existent and Buddy's bills have been mounting. This is where we come in, the people whom have been touched by Arturo, whether we realize it or not.
This GoFundMe is being set up by me with permission from Arturo and my hopes are that we can all chip in and help both Arturo and one of the lights of his life, Buddy.
