Anjali's Medical Treatment Fund

This story begins a decade ago when I had my first appointment with Penn State Hershey's vulvadynia specialist. Vulvadynia is a horrifically painful nerve condition within the vaginal area. Throughout the years, I have obediently followed doctor's orders and completed every type of therapy recommended: acupuncture, tens units, aquatherapy, trigger point injections, etc. About six months ago, my specialist announced that I am beyond his scope of medicine, and if he could help me, it would have already happened.
While giving birth to my daughter last May was the most beautiful moment of my life, that process left me almost nonfunctional. The level of pain left me unable to sit, sleep, and unable to work. However, before my specialist let me leave my appointment, he referred me to a specialist at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. This man had a doctorate in urology and another in anesthesia and seemed to be a beacon of hope that I had lost long ago.
Knowing that an eight hour trip one way and a stay were in the future, I began a part time job doing caregiving that paid monthly. I could handle the four hour shifts that left me in blinding pain, because I needed a way to reach my treatment.
My payday landed the business day before the trip, and I was called off of work. I told her that was fine, and I gave her my information to send a Western Union. She claimed she was unable to send it until the following morning. I informed her that my consultation was at 10:40am and she agreed to send it so the transfer would be available after the appointment. Long story short, we had to live out of a car with my thirteen month old while she gave excuse after excuse about why it had not arrived; while I attempted to calmly explain that we had no money for food, a motel, anything and had a baby in tow. After spending the night in the car, we drove home on the small amount of savings available.
Now, a week later, I realize that I was scammed out of a paycheck and no longer have a way to support my care.
At my appointment, the doctor stated that I need a surgical procedure July 6th. This procedure includes bedrest on my stomach in Ohio until I am able to drive, and then more bedrest once I arrive home. Which means I will require gas for a 600 mile journey, an extended stay in Ohio, a person to bring to take care of me for this undisclosed period, medications, ongoing treatment, etc.
Since I have two weeks until then, no job, and no savings; I have no other options than to ask my family and friends for an unfathomable gift. I feel so badly asking for this, but there are no other solutions to be had. So, I want to thank you all for reading this, I cannot begin to thank you all for being part of my life. These medical issues are why I have quieted down recently, and they seem to keep coming (I was diagnosed with Lupus a week ago).
Many thanks and all of my love,
Anjali
