This is my dad Chuck Harrison, he has peripheral artery disease and as a result on 1-27-2021 he was admitted to the hospital and on 1-28-2021 he had to have bypass surgery with arterial grafts of his left leg. Eleven days later we found out that the bypasses and grafts were 100% blocked and he would have to have his left leg amputated below the knee. At the same time we also found out the biopsy’s that were taken at the time of surgery showed that he has Follicular Lymphoma.
Chuck was again admitted to the hospital on 2-15-2021 and at that time he found out that he was Covid positive. On 2-18-2021 Chuck had his left leg amputated below the knee. He is still in the hospital, but once he is healthy enough he will be transferred to an inpatient physical therapy facility where they will help him regain his strength and then return home.
Chuck served in the United States Marine Corps with one tour in Vietnam. He was a Sargent with the Benton Harbor Police Department, but had to retire at the age of 36 due to a massive heart attack. He currently has a small business (Eagles Nest Holistic Application) which has been a supplement to his small pension. Business has been slow due to Covid and now revenue has stopped due to his present condition.
Chuck has a long road ahead of him but he is a fighter and any support would be greatly appreciated and applied to his medical and life expenses while he recovers.
