Hello everyone. As most of you know my mom Gerri Schultz went into Cardiac Arrest 2 weeks ago at the DMV. EMS was able to shock her and get her heart beating again and intubated her. They put a stent in the "widow maker" artery and placed her on a ventilator. Her heart was in good shape as soon as the stent was placed. The neurology team decided to do TTM therapy to protect her brain. TTM is therapy that cools the body down to between 90-92 degrees for 24 hours. As soon as they started warming her body she began having continuous seizures. CT showed severe brain damage to all areas of her brain except the part right above spinal cord. We took her off the vent Friday February 12. She is breathing on her own with just 2% oxygen. She is in critical condition because of the damage to her brain but holding her heart rate, oxygen, and blood pressure. Some of you already know that she has no life insurance or burial insurance. I'm not one to ask for help but I'm drowning emotionally, physically and financially. My mom is my rock and my best friend. She is also a sister, an aunt, a friend and a second mom to some of my friends. My heart is breaking. Please continue to pray for her, my family and her friends.
