My son Devin’s eye surgery
Donation protected
Our son Devin, 23 almost 24 was diagnosed with keratoconus. In keratoconus, your cornea thins and gradually bulges outward into a cone shape. This can cause blurry, distorted vision. Keratoconus (ker-uh-toe-KOH-nus) occurs when your cornea — the clear, dome-shaped front surface of your eye — thins and gradually bulges outward into a cone shape.
He has lost part vision in his right eye. If untreated he will go blind and their is nothing an Ophthalmologist can do to treat it. He could also lose eye sight in the other eye (the good eye) too. He has his whole life ahead of him and it’s scary news.
Sadly, The surgery is not covered under medical insurance. We found out that it’s going to be almost $7000 to do the surgery. He is a full time student who works part time at Safeway and can’t afford this procedure. We as his parents can’t afford it either. So we are reaching out to our family and friends to help, if you can. This is not easy to ask for help from you. But we do it humbly and with grace. Thank you and God Bless.
