My little brother, Zachary was in a horrific car accident that left him with multiple injuries including severe brain trauma. He is currently in the Shock Trauma ICU at GRU in Georgia. My family and I are trying to bring him home to Baltimore so we can be there to help take care of him. His injuries include: deviated septum, fractures of the cheek bones and sinus cavities, chip in his neck at C6, fissure fractures in his spine at T4 and T5, almost clean break skull fracture from his right temple over his ear around the base of his skull and up to the top of his skull, another skull fracture at the left temple, complete hearing loss in his right ear due to shattered ear canal, hearing damage in his left ear due to unhinged bones, cranial III nerve palsy, extreme road rash and loss of skin on 45% of his body, fractured jaw, bruised lungs, and severe short term memory loss. He remembers things for about 5 minutes and then will immediately forget them. Yesterday he was able to drink water and ice chips and we were lucky enough to avoid a feeding tube. His recovery so far has been nothing short of miraculous, but we still have a very long way to go.
The ambulance transport is $3200.

If you know me at all, you know my brother and I are very close. I can't stand the thought of him being down in Georgia while I am 700 miles away from my baby brother when he needs me most.
