Shawn Akers was a 777 pilot for Omni Air International. He passed away on June 11, 2016, at the age of 39 following a tragic traffic accident. A dedicated family man, he is survived by his wife of 10 years, Jessica Akers and four young daughters.

In addition to his work with Omni Air International, Shawn volunteered in his off time as a union steward with APA Teamsters Local 1224 and assisted in the processing of crew member disputes with the company.

The Omni pilot group, in recognition of his service, has set up this memorial fund to benefit the future education of his four young daughters. It is our sincere hope that this fund will in a small way help preserve the memory of Shawn and his selfless service to his fellow pilots.
