Two months ago, my mom, Angie Linder, was diagnosed with stage 2 inflammatory breast cancer. After a few more tests, we found out that the cancer has spread to her liver. This shifts her cancer to stage 4. We are awaiting biopsy results of her thyroid to see if it has spread there. Between living with this disease, the chemotheraphy, and many doctors appointments, we do not want her to have to stress about any medical expenses. We also want to let her have to opportunity to go to Mayo Clinic if she decides to so she can get the best care possible.
Her plan of action is to undergo a very strong chemotherapy every other week for a total of four rounds, and then another set of chemo every week for 12 weeks. She will then have a double masectomy, and then will carry on with more chemo for another year and a half to two years, following with radiation.
My mom is the most amazing, wonderful and caring woman I know. She has supported all of us 6 kids in every school activity we have ever done, along with helping improve our city on our city council. My mom has supported the GR community for so many years, and I know it can support her just as well.
Thank you to EVERYONE for any prayer, donation, or love sent to my mom in this hard time. It means so much to us to know that you are thinking about her.
