Hello everyone, as some of you may be aware of the conditions happening in Texas. Yesterday, My boyfriend and I had to take off work due to our water being turned off. Shortly around 1pm, we heard the fire alarm go off, so we got up in a panic and realized there was a strong leak in our dining room ceiling. So we started to pack our bags and as we were packing our bags, we noticed three more leaks happening throughout our apartment, first one in the dining room, second in kitchen, third in living room, and fourth in hallway (i have pictures and videos if anyone would like to see) that is five leaks in total so right then we knew the ceiling would eventually collapsed so we got out of our apartment with everything we could grab in a hurry. Turns out we were the only apartment who had a leak. We decided to go back in the house to get our unborn daughters things. I am also seven months pregnant. When we opened the door, apart of our ceiling had collapsed, water was sprinkling down, and floor was flooded. we got our baby girls stuff out but we do have to get rid of some things due to it being soaked with pipe water. My daughters things being ruined truthfully was the most heartbreaking thing to me because I was so excited to get these things for her. We are now in a hotel in Downtown Houston where they no longer have water. We were going to use this money that we spent on this hotel & food to buy things for our daughter and catch up on rent. Now we are out of luck with that. We have contacted the leasing office who are not too sympathetic or concerned about our conditions and situation and they do not have any available apartments to house us in as of right now so we will have to jump hotel to hotel to be able to have somewhere safe to stay. My manager is not being sympathetic with me right now and I’m praying I can keep my job. As of right now, I’m making calls to family to see if we can get help but in a pandemic, it’s very hard for everyone. This situation was so inconvenient for us because we both have to take off work and The money we had is being used for hotels and food instead of preparing for our daughter and paying rent and it truly breaks my heart that I have to go through this while seven months pregnant. I am truly thankfully that we are okay and safe. If you can, ANYTHING would help and we will appreciate ANYTHING! Thank you so much for your time and God Bless!
