Help me to roll down a life

Hello, my name is Francisco Cabarcas. I am 31 years old and I live in Caracas, Venezuela.
Living in the most dangerous city in the world has its cost. Two years ago I was a victim of a robbery on my way to work. Because I resisted I was shot in the neck.

The projectile went through my vertebral column causing severe damage to the spinal cord and leaving me with acute quadriplegia.



I am currently stable, but spending most of my days in a clinic bed and I can only move around in a wheelchair when someone is available to assist me. I live with my parents to whom I am grateful because with their love and dedication, they have managed to help me through this difficult situation.



With hard work, perseverance and a lot of time I have recovered sligh mobility in my arms, but I am still unable to move my fingers or the rest of my body.



I have set a personal goal in life: find a way to be independent and useful for myself.
I would like to start working to contribute with the expenses of my house and perhaps, if possible, to reinstate myself in the pharmacy area in which I worked before all of this happened.

It is hard to ask for help when so many people in my country need it too, but to complete my goal, I need a tool which is very difficult to buy in Venezuela: an electric wheelchair for people with spinal cord injury.
I would like to ask for your help to get this valuable tool that will allow me to move forward.

Spanish translation/ Traducción en español

Hola, mi nombre es Francisco Cabarcas, actualmente tengo 31 años y vivo en Caracas, Venezuela. Debido a la alta tasa de delincuencia e impunidad que se vive en mi país fui víctima de un robo hace casi dos años cuando iba camino al trabajo. Por resistirme, me dispararon en el cuello. El proyectil atravesó mi conducto raquídeo causando severos daños a la medula espinal y dejándome con cuadriplejia aguda.

Actualmente me encuentro estable de salud, pero paso la mayor parte de mi día en una cama clínica y solo logro movilizarme en una silla de ruedas simple cuando alguien a mi alrededor puede asistirme. Vivo con mis padres a quienes agradezco porque con su cariño y dedicación han logrado ayudarme a atravesar esta difícil situación. Con mucho esfuerzo diario, perseverancia y tiempo he podido recuperar levemente la movilidad en los brazos, sin poder mover todavía los dedos de las manos o el resto de mi cuerpo.

Me he trazado una meta personal: Buscar la manera de volver a ser útil e independiente por mí mismo. Deseo empezar a trabajar para poder contribuir con los gastos de mi casa y quizás, de ser posible, reincorporarme en el área de farmacia en la cual trabajaba antes de todo esto.

Es difícil en la situación en la que está mi país, pedir ayuda cuando tanta gente la necesita, pero para desplazarme y cumplir con mi meta necesito una herramienta, la cual es muy difícil de conseguir: una silla de ruedas eléctrica especial para personas con cuadriplejia.

Quisiera pedirles su colaboración para conseguir esta valiosa herramienta que me permitirá salir adelante.

Estaré muy agradecido de poder volver a sentir la libertad de vivir.

P.D: preocupados por mi situación actual, dos de mis amigos decidieron tomar esta iniciativa en sus manos para ayudarme.
