Not many people know this and I am not really sure how to start with all of this. At about 4 months pregnant with Colbie, my wife Callie began experiencing headaches that would not go away. We tried medicine, chiropractor, physical therapy and even being admitted into the hospital for testing and fluids. Nothing helped enough to completely get rid of the headache unfortunately. After Colbie was born we were sent to an internal medicine doctor and a neurologist. They decided to do a MRI and some other tests to see if we could figure out the problem. On June 26, 2015 while having family breakfast we received a call from the doctor that Callie had a brain tumor known as an Acoustic Neuroma. While this is a benign tumor it can have affects such as permanent hearing loss and loss of the facial nerves and function. The tumor is a fairly decent size measuring at just over 2 centimeters. At this time since Callie is breastfeeding we are monitoring the tumor. Every six months we have to go for hearing tests and MRI's along with trips to the neurosurgeon in Atlanta to make sure that nothing has changed. If it does, surgery will be required causing Callie to be in ICU for at least a week. Sadly, between medical bills for testing, doctor appointments and medications this has caused some financial strain on our family. Anyone who knows Callie, knows that she would give the shirt off of her back to help anyone she can. Through all of this we have tried to stay positive and continue to pray that nothing changes. Any help is greatly appreciated and if you cannot help please keep us in your prayers as we go through this journey! Thank you in advance.
