Let's Help Laura!

Hi everyone,
Nikki Carnemolla and Riley Eversull here. Some of you, we don't know personally. However, all of us have one thing in common. We all have an incredible friend, Laura Reichel. I think we can all agree that Laura is an awesome person. She's kind, intelligent, loyal, passionate, open-minded, and just an all-around great person.
Laura is currently pursuing her lifelong dream of living abroad, and is teaching English in South Korea. This past week, while playing volleyball, Laura injured her knee. What was initially thought to be just a sprain or contusion turned out to be a ruptured ACL, as well as damage to the medial and lateral meniscus. The doctors recommended surgery to repair the ACL and repair or replace the meniscus (depending on what they find when they get inside). Her surgery is scheduled for this coming Tuesday, June 21st.
Laura does have insurance through her job; however, she is responsible for the remainder of the cost in full at the time of surgery. The hospital does not accept payment plans or American credit cards. Luckily, she has been able to make arrangements to pay the amount, which is approximately $3,500. Clearly, this is not a small amount of money, and we would like to try to help her offset this unexpected expense.
Any amount will help. Even if you're able to donate $5 (just your grande latte tomorrow morning!), it will be $5 less that Laura doesn't have to stress about. We would hate to see our dear friend feel she has to give up on her dreams because of this unfortunate mishap.
Please consider donating to help our friend. We will be incredibly grateful, and we know, without a doubt, that Laura will be too. We can't imagine being in a different country and going through this type of incident. But Laura is strong, brave and determined, so we're confident that she'll be able to handle this with the grace and positivity that she always shows.
