Family and Friends, a few short weeks ago, my nephew, 18 year old Isaac (Ike) was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. Ike woke up one morning with a stiff neck and thought he just slept wrong. He went to school that day and when he got home, my sister in-law, Becky, saw a lump on his neck. They took him to the doctor and he was sent directly to an Ears, Nose and Throat Doctor. After examination, more lumps were discovered. A cat scan was done and blood tests were run. At this point it was determined that he also had lumps in his chest. The large lump from his neck was removed and biopsied. This is when the horrible, sad news and realization set in. More and more and more tests were done....pet scan, bone marrow biopsy...on and on and on. The type of cancer was discovered at this time. We are still waiting for the bone marrow biopsy results and praying he will not need a bone marrow transplant. Becky and John have just recently adopted 2 children that they have been fostering for several years, Cameron and JJ. They are 7 and 8 years old. They also have an older daughter, Madison who is 21 years old. As we are all aware, healthcare insurance costs, co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance is extremely expensive. Some may not realize until they are suffering from a disease that causes constant trips to the hospital for treatment. Ike began chemo just this week. Unfortunately, the co-pays, deductibles, etc., have already spiraled out of control and is just too much for them to handle without some help. My hope is that at a minimum, you will all pray for Ike, Becky, John, Madi, Cameron and JJ as they head down this road together. They need all of the love, prayers and support we can give. I am hoping to also raise money to assist them with Ike's healthcare bills that will continue to pour in....one right after the other. Thank you so much for you prayers and support.
