Trey Martin Support Fund

My name is Mark Bachara and I am from Southport, NC.  Trey Martin is my friend and colleague. Trey is an attorney from Oak Island, NC.  He is well liked and respected by all of his peers, loved by his friends and adored by his fiance, Katie.  Trey was involved in a head on collision on Wednesday June 15, 2016.   The other driver had fallen asleep behind the wheel and neither car slowed down before impact.  The result was devastating. While Trey miraculously avoided head trauma or any damage to vital organs, he suffered two broken legs, a broken hip, heel and a broken shoulder.  He has a few other scrapes and also lost a tooth. Trey has already undergone surgery to repair his legs, hip and his shattered knee but more procedures are upcoming for his heel and shoulder.  As it stands, he is expected to be wheelchair bound for 8 to 12 weeks.  His broken shoulder will make mobility even more difficult.  Trey could be in an inpatient rehab facility for 3 months, learning to walk again.  He is receiving the best available care  and is extremely thankful to be alive.  He is humbled by the outpour of support from his friends and colleagues.  His body might be broken but his spirit is as strong as I have ever seen.  He has an optimistic outlook on what he knows will be a long and difficult recovery.  It is not known when he may be able to return to work, which unlike many of us, he happens to thoroughly enjoy.  He's been worried about his clients even as he sits in the intensive care unit.   While Trey is not working, and Katie takes time to be with him and support him, their expenses will continue to rise .  They need some help from us during this difficult time.  Worrying about finances is the last thing they need to concern themselves with right now. Please consider making a contribution to supplement their income over the coming weeks.  It will go to a very deserving couple and used to help pay their bills.  They would do the same for us.
