Help the Tetnowski Family

Hi Everyone,
This is Dave Hens from Colorado Springs, Colorado and Louise Genetti Roach from Santa Fe, New Mexico.
As members of the Depew High School Class of 1975 [Depew, New York] we are reaching out for your help and support in assisting one of our classmates, John Tetnowski of Lafayette, Louisianna. If you have watched the news recently, you know about the terrible flooding and devastation in Louisiana. John and his family were in the path of destruction and have lost just about everything. Their home and its belongings were destroyed by rising flood waters. As you can see from the photo, John’s house (the white one on the other side of the fence) was inundated with over five feet of water!
When the Tetnowskis finally reached their home by boat, they found everything on the first floor destroyed – furniture, cabinets, appliances, personal items – even the air conditioner. All will need to be replaced as will the flooring, drywall and carpeting.
Your donations will go directly to John Tetnowski as benefituary of this account. This is a great way to directly help a friend in need. The Tetnowskis will use funds generated by this fundraising effort to help with the costs of rebuilding their home and replacing its contents. Work has already begun, so donations from this page will immediately be useful to the family. Right now John estimates it will take 4 to 6 months before they can move back in.
Fortunately John, Jennifer and their daughter, Jess, are all safe. John told us that he and his wife also care for his mother who lives with them in Louisiana. What a difficult situation for a senior parent to endure!
We’re very lucky that our high school friendships have stood the test of time as witnessed by our wonderful reunion in 2015. (Yes, John and Jennifer were there too!) When someone from our class is in need, we step up and lend a hand. Now is that time – let’s come together and help the Tetnowski family dig out from this disaster. Whatever you are able to donate will be greatly appreciated by John and Jennifer as they put the pieces of their life back together.
