Pregnant wife and children lose father.

My name is Kelly Thomas and I am a co-worker of Anthony Lee.

Anthony, myself and 11 other co-workers are essential workers to the public during this Covid outbreak.

Anthony Lee, age 59 contracted the Covid virus towards the end of January 2021.

He returned to the yard of where we work and stated he was not feeling well and was going home for the day in hopes he would be feeling better for the following days work. Anthony never returned to work. That was the last time any of us had seem him. It was the following day that I received a call from Anthony stating that he was going down to a testing station to be tested for the Covid virus because he was not feeling better. He in fact was feeling worse. A couple weeks went by and no one had heard from him. Over those two weeks I had sent several text messages but, had not gotten any response. Then one day while on my break, I received a call from Anthony. He sounded out of breath and was coughing a lot. He was upset at the fact that he may have infected his youngest son (age 6) Anton as well as his older son and wife who is expecting their unborn child. Antony kept saying “I will never forgive myself if I took this Covid home to my wife and kids.”

He continued to call me several times in that week and was very worried about his family’s health and financial well being. He kept repeating over and over to me that the Covid virus was trying to kill him. Anthony was fighting for his life. Then one day Anthony’s calls just stopped. I tried calling the hospital several times but, would get no information on Anthony’s condition.

We all work a split shift and when returning to work on February 4th, 2021 our general manager and supervisor were standing outside of our work place. Other co-workers were arriving as well. Before we entered our building a couple of us were called over by the general manager and we were informed that our co-worker Anthony Lee had passed away that morning due to complications related to the Covid virus. Anthony had been a co-worker to some of us for more than 20 years. He was a funny and very dedicated employee/co-worker, husband, father and friend to all that know him.

We still can not believe that our once co-worker, close friend whom we all spent many early mornings with together was gone.

We would like to help Anthony’s family with the burial cost, the medical bills that are left behind as well as the cost for their expected baby.

If you can find it in your heart to make a donation, even if it’s just five dollars, it would help out greatly.

Bless all those who have lost their lives to Covid.
