Help Doodle get his surgery
Donation protected
On January 21st our rescue pup Doodle ran outside through the snow and ice and ended up hurting himself. He came back inside limping but otherwise acting normal.
We figured he may have just twisted his leg and gave him a heating pad to rest on.
Four days later our boy still wasn’t using his hind leg and we decided to see the vet.
The first diagnosis wasn’t bad.
They said he must have pulled the tendons/ligaments around his knee and the first step would be anti inflammatory and pain medicine with lots of rest.
Fast forward just over a week after the first vet visit and Doodle showed little to no progress.
Upon the second vet visit the news became worse.
His entire knee was popping out of socket and at this point the vet recommended seeking an orthopedic specialists to address how bad the situation is.
Doodle is set to see a specialist at the Syracuse VMC on February 24th.
This appointment will give us a better idea of how bad things are and what to expect next.
The vet we had been seeing sent us home with papers on “ruptured cranial cruciate ligaments”.
Upon looking this up we discovered that the surgery options and rehabilitation afterwards can easily get very costly.
Which is why we are here, creating a gofund me.
We don’t like asking for help but we know that alone we will not be able to pull this off.
Our animals have always been our children, they mean the absolute world to us.
His TPLO surgery was estimated at almost $6,000 total.
This is a new and scary experience for everyone involved, all the way around.
Please know that your support means the absolute world to us and we will forever be grateful for those who lend a helping hand.
