Love For Reggie

A wonderful and beautiful soul was further displaced this week. 

Many of you are likely aware of the fire that took place outside the old Ballard Blossom on market street on 2/9. This fire consumed and destroyed all the possessions of Reggie. 

For those of you that might not know Reggie, he is an important player in our community. As one of our unhoused members of our community, Reggie keeps look out for both businesses and individuals. He cleans our sidewalks, he is always there to offer protection, and he’s respected enough with the unhoused community that he keeps others in line. He’s been allowed for a long time to live outside Ballard Blossom, and does all he can to protect and watch over the blocks between 17th and 20th on the north side of Market street. 

He’s a powerful, and I’m sure to some, an imposing presence. His history, and what has lead him to life on the streets, is unclear. But he never has shunned his role in society. Even through this devastating set back I have no doubt he will continue to be the beautiful soul that he is. 

I am asking for support for our fellow community member, human, and for a man who deserves our protection now more than ever. 

Reggie is not aware of this fundraiser, and I’d like to keep it that way. I am in contact with him, and any funds received through this will go directly to him in cash.
