In Memory of Jordan N. Miles

Jordan Neal Miles was the kind of kid that once you met him, you didn't soon forget him. Full of engaging smiles and jokes, Jordan was always up for new adventures. Ever the charmer, his infectious smile and raspy laugh were two of his greatest traits.
Sadly, we will no longer get to see his smile or hear his laughter. He will no longer experience any more adventures. Jordan was gunned down outside of his home at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 23rd, 2016.
Today, April 26, would have been Jordan's 18th birthday. He was also planning to graduate from high school on June 5, 2016. This was supposed to have been the biggest year of Jordan's life. Tragically, this year, there will be no birthday cake and balloons; no senior prom and after-parties; no commencement ceremony and graduation parties. Instead, the family is planning to lay Jordan to rest.
Jordan's father, my little brother, Neal said to me, "It is going to cost $10, 000 to send my son to God." Heartbreaking words. Absolutely devastating. I cannot imagine having to go through that. No parent(s) should have to bury their child. Neal and Jordan's mother, Akua Jones-Smith never expected to have to bury their son.
As Jordan's aunt, and on behalf of his parents and extended family, I am asking you to help me raise money for Jordan's funeral-related expenses. Please give as much as you are able. If you are a praying person, please say a little prayer for our family, and for Jordan and for so many like him who are losing their young lives to gun violence.
Thank you very much!
