House Fire Relief

Donation protected
I have started this Go Fund me page for my Sister In-law Chelsea and her young family.  They have not been in Shepparton long and had moved there for more work opportunities (far from friends and family) and only just starting out with their new life when an electrical fire started in the roof space of their rental home. Fortunately they are all safe, unfortunately they did not have any contents insurance.

Although they may receive some sort of relief grant for immediate accommodation, they still need to find a new place to live, furnish a new home, buy all new clothes, toiletries, food and toys for their 4 year old son as well as house their two dogs until a house is found.

They are very humble and private, however it is times like this when a community of people come together to help others out. There has already been tremendous support from the Shepparton Community and they are forever greatful.

Any donation whether big or small will help towards daily living, bills, new furniture, Bond for a new place etc. It all helps.

Physical donations of clothes, furniture, toys etc can be made once they find a new place ( details TBA).

Family Left Without a Home Following Shepparton Fire.
Wednesday, 4 September 2019

A young Shepparton family including an infant is tonight without a home following a fire shortly before 8pm Wednesday.
Country Fire Authority crews were alerted to smoke issuing from the roof space of the Lisburn Street home at 7:46pm.
Upon the arrival of CFA crews, it was clear the weatherboard home was under severe threat.
Firefighters wasted no time, sending in crews wearing breathing apparatus to tackle the fire.
Within 20 minutes the fire was brought under control.
At the peak of the fire, five appliances were on scene including Shepparton’s Hazmat truck.
A fire investigator will visit the home Thursday morning to determine the cause of the fire.
Thankfully, the young family escaped with their lives.
Emergency accommodation is being arranged for the family, who have been displaced by the fire.
This is a timely reminder to ensure your home is fitted with working smoke alarms.
