Asalaamolaikum everyone. Thank you for taking the time out to read what I have to say here, just that act alone means a lot.
My family has built a Masjid (or mosque - place of worship for Muslims) in Bronx, NY and I am looking for some assistance to help carry out yearly expenses and getting rid of a mortgage that was used to build the mosque in the first place. In Islam, it is a sin to have any source of financing that carries interest, and especially for a House of Allah, it is unacceptable. But being in America, it is impossible to get a mortgage without interest. The mosque cost about $1.3M as it stands today and it has approximately $550,000 remaining on the mortgage. My ultimate goal is to have the Masjid free of interest.
There are about 50 children who come to this Masjid and read Quran (Islam's holy book) and if you donate for this cause, you will be receiving Sadqa Jari'a. Sadqa Jari'a, in summary, are the blessings you will continue to receive from Allah long after you pass. This is because the knowledge that the mosque is able to provide to these children is being spread through them, and it will be thanks to your help, your donation, in helping to support this Masjid. So you will long recieve the blessings even after you are gone. This world we live in is temporary and is a test until we get to our final destination - the Afterlife, which is where we will reside forever. We understand that every person on this planet has their own personal problems, whether it be personal or financial, and all we can do is complain about them. But in all actuality, what are we really doing to help better our situations? What have we done for Allah so that he may help us turn our situations around? Think about it.
My brothers and sisters, there are 365 days in a year, and I am only asking for you to donate 1 day's pay out of the 365 to this cause. Even if you only make $1 a day - this is more than enough even! It is all about your intentions! With good intentions, even your $1 donation will give you a palace in the hereafter. Please keep this in mind.
We are currently in the holy month of Ramadan, and every penny you donate in the name of Allah, you will receive back 70 times more.
This is all in the name of Allah. InshaAllah, or Godwilling, I have faith that we will be able to raise enough money! And I pray that Allah will shower many blessings unto you. We will be forever grateful to you!
