Heartfelt greetings friends and family,

THANK YOU ALL FOR  HELPING US PAY TRIBUTE TO MARIO GARAY AND MARIA AREVALO. MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU ALL.

Below we have updated the page with a couple of other memories. Feel free to share with friends and family.
...................

The tragedy of Covid-19  has struck our family member Mario De La Rosa Garay, and his beloved wife Maria Dara Arevalo.

Married over 40 years. Never inseparable. We are kindly asking for your support in order to give them both a proper funeral.

Mario was a man of few words, very quiet, soft-spoken, shy, reserved, private.

One of Mario's sister's, Maria Carrillo, recalls that as a young man, Mario made the decision to drop out of high school in order to get a job so that he could help his mother, Maria Elena, pay the rent.  As the eldest, and only brother, Mario felt the duty to contribute to the household.  Maria also fondly recalls that Mario would drive his sisters to dances when they wanted to go out

Mario was a talented guitar player.  He taught himself to play the guitar at a young age, and as he got older, he would eventually play in different bands for money.

Mario’s youngest sister, Martha, recalls that when he was young, Mario loved the El Kaliman comics.  His sisters, as well as his cousin Miguel, and beloved and departed cousin Letty, would fight him over every new edition because Mario always wanted to be the first to read it.

Maria Dora Arevalo, like Mario, was also reserved, soft-spoken, and shy.  Maria had a kind and generous soul.  She always cared for others, and was always there for the family in any time of need.  When our Abuelita Lola was in the hospital, Maria would stay overnight and keep her company when others could not.  Maria babysat her niece and nephew, Albert and Ashley, as children, and they have fond memories of Maria cooking delicious meals for them and letting them play with all her pets.

Both Mario and Maria Garay were quiet, but caring people.  Mario is survived by his mother, Maria Elena Carrillo, sisters Alma, Maria, and Martha, his niece, Ashley, his nephews, Albert and Liam Martin, Tios Pastor and Lucas and Tia Victoria, and numerous loving cousins. Maria is survived by her 3 children, one who is Carlos Alexander Arevalo.

THANK YOU AGAIN FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOU ALL. YOU ALL MADE IT POSSIBLE. MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

Below are treasured memories…..
