Hello friends and family ! Let me introduce you to our little 2 year old, Ezra. As most of you know, our family recently relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada where I started working..right before the new year, Ezra stopped eating, and then progressed to not walking or having any energy. After 4 days of thinking it was just a stomach virus, we took Ezra to the Children’s Hospital of Nevada (UMC) where they performed MRI’s , CT scans, and finally a Lumbar puncture. On January 2nd 2021, we found out that our 2 year old was fighting a very serious and dangerous brain infection. Because of the severity of the infection, his team of doctors felt more comfortable with Ezra staying and completing his treatment in the hospital for 21 days. Unable to work, we stayed by his side the entire time in the hospital. Ezra had round the clock antivirals through a PICC line, along with fluids to keep him hydrated and to also keep his kidneys functioning properly. Towards the end of his treatment, Ezra was sedated and received his second lumbar puncture (spinal tap) that showed the infection in his brain was cleared!! On January 24th 2021 we were discharged from the hospital. Unfortunately, we found out that my insurance hadn’t started with my new job, and our insurance in California ended before Ezra was admitted.
Our hospital bill is over $97,000.00. We don’t qualify for emergency Medicare or Medicaid in the state of Nevada.
I know we have asked you all to keep our boy in your prayers, and because of that, he is healed and home with us.. we are now asking, if you are able, please help us out with Ezras medical bills and living expenses. Anything, any amount helps, and if you are unable to donate at this time, please share and keep us in your prayers. Thank you so much! We appreciate you all.
