Hi everyone, I m Cheryl, Todd Patterson’s wife. Todd has be dealing with kidney failure this past year. As of now he has only 10% or less of his kidney function.He started with doing peritoneal dialysis , which didn’t work for him so he had to have it removed. He had to go back in for surgery to have fistula surgery to try hemodialysis which should be ready to use around February 20th. With hemodialysis you have to be at dialysis every other day, 4-5 hours a day the rest of your life to survive. Anyone that knows Todd well , knows he is not one to sit around and let life pass him by. Last year was had 10+ years under his belt competing in skijoring , where he pulls a skier on a snow covered course running your horse at full speed. He has packed in supplies for Selway-Bitteroot National Forest Frank Church Foundation with his horses to help keep trails cleared. It’s something he loves doing with a passion but if he has to have hemodialysis the rest of his life his packing will not be possible to do.He is out there for days at a time, which would not let him do his dialysis.So he has done all the required testing he needs for a kidney transplant.His loving ,unselfish sister in-law is donating her kidney to him and is a match.Our problem is the cost of lodging, food, cost for someone to caretake our home for possibly up to 5 weeks. .Transportation for his sister in-law and her caretaker, lost time of work and the list goes on.If anyone would like to donate to Todd’s transplant costs , It would be much appreciated.
