Victoria’s battle with MIS-C
Donation protected
Victoria Galvan was diagnosed with Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C) on February 6th, 2021 after she had made a complete recovery from SARS -CoV-2 on January 25th 2021. MIS-C is very rare and only recently discovered in children post COVID (it is believed that MIS-C is due to the body's immune response to the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 coronoavirus). Due to the severity of MIS-C, as it attacks multiple organ systems, Victoria was admitted to Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin, Texas. Over the past week, Victoria’s condition has made some improvement but today on February the 8th the family received the news that her symptoms continue to worsen. Victoria will be receiving a new treatment since she has not been responding to the other treatments, but doctors have given the family hope that Victoria is a fighter and will overcome this, she still faces a lengthy road to recovery. There is no doubt that Victoria will one day use this experience to show her love of God and share His message, but in the mean time, I am hoping that we can all join together and do something for the family.
We are in unprecedented times, and this family is trying to balance time between their other daughter, work, sitting by Victoria’s side, sleeping, and hopefully eating when they remember to. Financial stresses should not be something anyone should have to worry about during such times. Lost wages, hospital bills, lab bills, food, and the list goes on and on. This is a great opportunity for us, to shower this family with love and support. Aside from our continued prayers, let us try to ease financial burden from them and allow them to focus all their energy and prayer into the recovery of their daughter and family.
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
