After fighting for two months in the icu our grandmother, Norma, lost the battle with Covid. She was a friend to many and loved by all. If you would have met her you would have been laughing within the first ten minutes. She touched the lives of everyone who met her. Whether you knew her from her many craft fairs, RTD/MTA, or her daily life, she made sure that you knew that you were cared for and taken care of.
Her boisterous laughter was contagious. I close my eyes and see her throw her head back, laughing as loud as she could. Our happiest moments were when we were together and she was eating and joking. Although she was usually the tiniest person in the room, her personality filled it. She was a sweet little lady, but mess with her and her inner thug came out. A true mama bear if ever there was one. She was the matriarch of our family. She helped raise her eleven brothers and sisters, she was a single mom to her daughters, a grandmother to five biological grandchildren, and dozens of "adopted" grandchildren (family friends that adopted her as a grandmother right back). She didn't just leave her family behind, she left behind a true legacy. Her shoe size might have only been a size 5, but there is no way we could ever fill them.
Out of all the things she wanted in life her home had been a dream of hers for many years. After much sacrifice she was finally able to put a down payment on her home. It was her pride and joy and no matter what life threw her way her home was the one thing she fought to keep. She said that as long as she kept her home she knew her family would be taken care of since they would always have a roof over their heads, and that meant she didn't have to worry about them. It is for this reason that we have started this gofundme to raise the funds to keep her home.
Her secret love affair with sewing and yarn was like none seen ever before. We hope that God has a nice sewing machine and a room big enough for it all.
Help us reach our goal to save her house, every dollar helps. Thank you for your donations
