As many of you know or heard, on Saturday April 16, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake shook the North Western Coast of Ecuador, causing severe damage in the provinces of Manabi and Esmeraldas. At least 654 people were killed and 16,600 people injured. According to some reports, the earthquake destroyed more than 7,000 buildings and left behind about 26,000 people living in shelters. To make matters worse, the health needs following this event are overwhelming. There are big concerns about a Zika virus outbreak and the risk of Dengue fever for people displaced by the earthquake.
Despite these challenges, it has been inspiring to see how friends and family in Ecuador have mobilized to volunteer their time and skills and donations for the most in need. This resilience and sense of unity is what motivates me to kindly ask for your support.
Please help me to support efforts in Ecuador by giving what you can, either by donating money to this campaign or by helping me spreading the word to others who may be in a position to help. All the funds collected will directly go to UNICEF representative stationed in Ecuador.

UNICEF, along with their partners in Ecuador, is providing water and sanitation supplies, insecticide-treated mosquito netting, school kits and tents.
