Breast Cancer
Donation protected
I was diagnosed recently with DCIS (ductal carcinoma in situ) non invasive. I have had a breast biopsy, magnet seed placement, and two lumpectomy. I will follow up with my Oncologist and surgeon on February 10. I am hopeful that I won't need chemo and radiation, and to be honest due to cost I will probably deny it and see if I can just do estrogen therapy (tamoxifen).
In the last 30 days my doctors bills total $33,000. I do have insurance and I am hoping that at least $20 grand is covered, I am also seeing if their is any additional assistance. I have liquidated my 403b retirement. I hate asking for help and I typically suffer through and remain quiet. Those that know me are aware of what I have been through prior to this diagnosis and realize Its been a long haul .No one said life would be easy. I am very good at hiding behind a smile and jokes, my funny weirdo voices I do and keeping myself busy. If you can't donate know that I truly understand, I get it and please don't feel bad. Those that can donate know that I appreciate it immensely these are hard times we are living in and the fact that you are willing to donate is HUGE to me.
