Donna Hinman's Funeral Expenses

Donation protected
Our mother, Donna, left many friends and family behind who truly loved her and miss her presence already. Her passing has come sudden and to most, a complete shock. Mom never anticipated this sort of end, and thus never prepared for the possibility of not beating breast cancer. Had she told us about her illness, we could have helped her prepare better, even possibly bought her more time with better treatments. But for whatever the reason, God had better plans and we submit to His wisdom and timing in all this.

Mom was kind, loyal, gracious and has given generously to the lives of so many around her. She served the Lord her whole life and dedicated herself to raising her three children in the Lord and they each, to this day, serve Him still. Mom was a wonderful friend, sister, mother and daughter. When especially, someone was in need, without question, she was there to offer counsel, assistance, wisdom and even a good laugh. To say she cared deeply would be an understatement.

The emotional toll its taken on our family can't be quantified. Even more upsetting is the current costs to have a basic funeral and burial. Unfortunately, we cannot afford to bury our mother with our father, her husband, Greg Hinman. ($15,000 just for the plot!!) So we've managed to secure a nice alternative plot in the same cemetery but much further away and were only required to put 10% down but have to pay the final amount in full before the day of the funeral. We secured the plot just minutes before mom's passing and saved us $2500. (Cemeteries increase the retail cost of plots after someone dies. Can you believe this??!!)

This plot is $10,885. We simply don't have the means to afford this entire fee. The burial itself will cost at minimum over $9,000 plus the cost of the casket ($1,000). Plus the cost of casket flowers ($500-which I, Jaimee, will be designing as a final tribute for mom). The church has been gracious to let us use their space. Additional costs would be just for us to create programs, videos and for hosting the reception with food and we have those things covered.

Our mom wishes to be buried in a casket so please no more suggestions for cremation. Its not something either side of our family has ever done and we'd like to do our best to honor our mother's wishes.

While many of you didn't get a chance to say your goodbye to Donna, and in lieu of receiving flowers to our homes, we would be most appreciative and grateful for anyone willing to help us give our mother a final resting place. Any amount is beyond appreciated.

This is the second time we've had to bury our parent. The agony that we all went through 28 years ago was brought right to the surface all over again today when she finally passed much, much too soon. We'd like for our hearts to start the healing process as soon as possible and we're hoping to be able to have the funeral no later than by the end of next week.

We've already sought out organizations for assistance and in the process of trying to get approved. If you'd like to purchase specific items, you're welcome to contact me, Jaimee, directly to find out the items.

We love our mom. We love our family. We love our extended friends and family and ministry friends who have helped us to navigate such a sudden and overwhelming time. Thank you for all your support and prayers and love.
