Kristina Hamilton (Odilka) has Severe Diffuse Systemic Scleroderma, a rare, incurable auto immune disease, which causes hardening of the skin, blood vessels and organs of the body. Currently, due to pain and eating difficulties, her weight has severely dropped. She is very limited
in her ability to eat. Movement is limited: it is both painful and fatiguing. A surgical gasostromy placed a stoma in her belly so she can receive nourishment. She receives feedings five times a day. This is all very new for her and a little scary. She spent a week in the hospital.and is coming home to home health care, PT OT, and Wound Care for flesh breakdown. This process is just starting.
A very dedicated mother and always a dedicated employee, she is no longer able to work.
Her insurance has stopped and it is necessary to buy the very costly COBRA until Medicare is completed and kicks in. COBRA continues ones medical insurance coverage after work related insurance stops.
Kristina has three beautiful children of school age, who are very involved in assisting their Mom and lovingly making her comfortable. Eldest daughter is Yasnai, 16, youngest daughter is Laylah, 13, and son, Isaiah, is 12, a great loving , support team for their mom. They cook, clean, manage her feedings and care for her while doing their virtual schooling at home. They are remarkable!
Donating to Kristina's fund would help pay for her rent, utilities, groceries, COBRA, car payment (a blessing that Yasnai now has her liscense), copays, car insurance and the other necessities of life. It is a very difficult situation, and complicated by this time of Covid. Your loving thoughts and prayers are an integral part of this process. It is very difficult to ask others for help, to ask others for monetary contributions.
We are all so very grateful for the help, love, and concern, of everyone involved in Kristina's life. It has made a very difficult time livable. Thank you.
