Help Produce "Hands of Light" for AWARE

Tax deductible

The Mirror Theater,  a People's Theater,  needs your help in these tumultuous times! to support AWARE

Curtain call at HCA in the 2019 production of Bernard Pomerance's "Miranda."

The Greensboro Arts Alliance and Residency (GAAR), sponsored by Highland Center of the Arts  is inaugurating a program of live theater...streaming to your house!

GAAR will present a series of riotous comedies and exciting dramas that reflect our current times, and our history, starting with Bernard Pomerance's brilliant "Hands of Light," from August 20-21 at 7pm.

100% of our net proceeds from "Hands of Light" will go to Aware , a Vermont-based non-profit that strives to prevent and heal the trauma of domestic and sexual violence.

Vermont Public Radio , which sponsored GAAR’s production of "Miranda" at HCA last summer, will broadcast the plays so they can reach an audience far beyond the Northeast Kingdom!

We need YOUR help to make our production budget.

* To pay the actors and tech staff
* To create the design elements of a livestreamed play (sound, costume, effects)
* To pay for the use of streaming platforms
* To help us help Aware

Bernard Pomerance's "Hands of Light" is a re-imagining of the story of King Midas, who valued gold above everything else, including his family.

"Hands of Light" is cast with GAAR’s mission in mind: unite the great talents of local Vermonters with world class talents from elsewhere -- a formula that has had great success for the last fifteen years.  GAAR/The Mirror is the People’s Theater.

Our cast is composed of Vermont actors our community knows well, having seen them many times: Abigail Demers, who has been in our plays since she was Brigitta (she stole all the reviews!) at age 7 in our acclaimed "Sound of Music," Krissie Ohlrogge, Jim Hogue (also running for Lt Governor), Mariana Considine and GAAR company members Marla Schaffel, our Tony-nominated Artist in Residence, and Aiden Redmond, last year’s Prospero in "Miranda," with Nicole Ansari, Queen Gertrude in GAAR’s 2015 "Hamlet," and Michael Tomlinson, who will play King Midas.

We also welcome newcomers Ian Lithgow, most recently seen in "Bull" and the new "Perry Mason," and the enchanting young actress Mina Cuesta.

We hope you'll support our production, and our efforts for Aware.
