Hello everyone! My name is Giselle Martinez and I am seeking YOUR help to support my aspirations of becoming a certified paralegal.
I accomplished my most recent educational pursuits as a first generation college student when I graduated from California State University, Northridge in 2019. I was thrilled to move forward with plans of serving with the Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic during March of 2020, when the rise of the global pandemic brought my plans to a halt. Had my plans gone accordingly, I would have volunteered for two years and continued onto law school upon my completion of service.
Humanitarian efforts have been a passion of mine since I was in high school which resulted in me pursuing jobs in nonprofits that ultimately led me to the Peace Corps. Although I will no longer be able to volunteer internationally, my enthusiasm for public service has not diminished. In order for me to continue pursuing these efforts according to my goals, I have decided to seek an education in paralegal studies under one of the highest ranking programs approved by the ABA.
Therefore, I am asking for YOUR help in hopes of raising the $8,000 I need to pay for this program at the University of California, Berkeley. I have been an honor student through all of my academic years and a student leader among my peers across several humanitarian efforts. As a child of a single immigrant mother, I plan on pursuing this venture in hopes of one day becoming an Education attorney to help other low income students become prepared and college educated working professionals in the future.
Lastly, I would like to state that I am eternally grateful to every single person that believes in me and supports this fundraiser. I hope that I have inspired you to make meaningful contributions to individuals such as myself and other students. These generous donations will provide major assistance to me and will be forever appreciated.
Thank you very much!
