Shamus and Family Health Fund

My name is Shamus Orion Birkel, I am a 43 year old man living wth my wife, Abenie, and our dear children, Ronia and Yarrow. We live off-grid near Nelson, B.C. I love to garden, cultivate fruit and berries, build, and work outside. For years I have been working as a Youth and Family Worker in School District 8, I am a trained community mediator, and you may remember me as Bob the Baker, Pirate captain Shamus Smallskull, or Shamadini the Magician at the Waldorf Halloween Journey. I have been conducting primitive skills workshops and campouts for youth, and doing boy's Rites of Passage work in the area for years. On January 15th, 2021, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Adenocarcinoma. Even with the best of standard treatments, the likelihood of my living beyond the next few years is not high. I am asking for your help, to allow me the opportunity to follow a personal treatment protocol that could make a large difference in both the quantity and quality of my life. I want to live, as best and fully as possible, for as long as I reasonably can. I want to be present with my family and friends, and not leave my wife with debt, if I die prematurely. The brevity and preciousness of this life has never been more apparent to me, and I want to make the most of what I have left. Thank you for your care and support.
