Some may already be aware that my sister Natalie Desir was recently diagnosed with stage 2 triple negative breast cancer. Triple-negative breast cancer is considered to be more aggressive and have a poorer prognosis than other types of breast cancer, mainly because there are fewer targeted medicines that treat triple-negative breast cancer. 

In August 2020 she felt a lump and after many tests and consultations Nat was diagnosed in December 2020. Our family as a whole were shocked but are doing everything we can to be there for Natalie, Ben (husband), and Nyla (daughter).

This news was a tough pill to swallow especially because not only is she 29 years old, but she is also 5 months pregnant with a baby girl on the way and is due in June. Her diagnosis is unique because of her young age and the pregnancy.

Between co-pays for cancer & the baby, diagnostic tests, and chemo, bills are starting to add up. She will still have to have surgeries and radiation after the baby is delivered.
