Doc's Vet Bills

Donation protected

Some wonderful friends of mine had a devastating experience this past weekend.  What follows are the Facebook posts about the situation.  Please help with any amount you are able to contribute.  Thease are wonderful people who love their animals like children and they are devestated over the harm that came to Doc.  So  far they have accrued veterinary bills of over $2000 and as of today they are still not able to bring Doc home.  The vet says he needs a few more days at about $300 a day.  Then there will be after care for weeks.  Please help!

"I'm posting this just so I don't have to keep repeating the story. Some fuel caught fire in Troy's hand and he threw it on the ground. Doc was standing there and it exploded and caught him on fire. He took off running through the dry grass with Troy chasing him trying to catch him and put him out. Troy finally caught him and was trying to put the fire out with his hands. I ran up, pulled his shirt off and got the fire out. Troy then started working on getting the grass fires our while I soaked Doc with water. Troy ended up with burned hands and Doc is in the hospital for a few days. We both.ended up with nasty bite wounds from poor Doc. As bad as this was we're thankful because things could have been much worse! Doc could have been burned up and the fires could have gotten huge and burned down our house! You don't have to reply, I'm just exhausted from crying and repeating the story so thought maybe this way I won't have to keep repeating it. Doc has a long recovery in front of him but his Dr. Is optimistic"

UPDATE on Troy & Doc - "Troy's burns are doing good, now we're just working on getting the gash on his finger healed up. Doc's still hanging in there! He has a lot more inflammation but no infection as yet. He is now bandages from nose to tail. They are keeping him sedated to help with the pain and have to knock him out to treat the wounds. He was very groggy this morning when I visited but happy to see me. Dana Park Veterinary Hospital is doing an awesome job with him!! We are going to try to bring him home by Wednesday as we can't afford to keep him in the hospital. Thank you all for the kind words of care, support and prayers."

Tuesday UPDATE - "Doc is feeling little better and ate for me today when I visited him. We are hoping to bring him home tomorrow. His care is getting REALLY expensive! Troy's blisters on his hands finally burst and are drying up now. His cut is healing slowly but seems to be good. Thank you all for the good thoughts and prayers."
